The team of the Information Management Research Group of the University of St.Petersburg became the finalists of the ACM SIGMOD 2010 Programming Contest. The Contest was about the development of a distributed engine for querying relational databases. 29 teams took part in the Contest and 5 reached the final. The first place was won by the Stanford University as its Database Group is one of the strongest in the world. The winners will present their works at the ACM SIGMOD 2010.
